“The Four Elements explores the harmonious interplay of fire, water, air, and earth, elements that not only shape our environment but also inform my artistic process. In my paintings, I employ a combination of encaustic and oil mediums to create layered, textured works. Encaustic, a traditional medium with a rich history dating back to ancient Egypt, requires careful handling and curing. Its durability and timeless beauty contribute to the longevity of my artwork.
Nature, and the ocean in particular, provides me with a profound sense of peace and inspiration. As time passes, my appreciation for the natural world has only deepened, fuelling my artistic endeavours. My goal is to share my passion for the coast and the elements through my work, inviting viewers to contemplate the beauty and power of our natural surroundings.
My artistic practice is deeply rooted in my lifelong connection to the South Coast. The ocean, with its ever-changing forms and colours, has been a constant source of inspiration and wonder. Through my use of drone aerial photography, I’ve discovered a unique perspective on our coastline, one that offers a fresh and exhilarating vantage point.” Natalija Vocanec
