Rebecca Brennan – Coast to Country

Rebecca Brennan will be joining The Garden with her engaging exhibition Coast to Country.  This exhibition will be on display from Thursday 29th June until Wednesday 26th July 2023.

Join us for her opening night Friday 30th June from 5pm-6pm. You will have the chance to be among the first to view her exhibition as well as meet Rebecca herself… AND enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles!

For many artists living in Australia, engagement with the landscape is inevitable.

I wish to embody my paintings with an atmospheric light and colour that can only be found in the rock platforms, the escarpment and the native flora and fauna of this country.

For many artists living in Australia, engagement with the landscape is inevitable. Travelling around Australia in her early 20’s, living in remote areas, has given Rebecca a strong sense of spirit and connection to place. Sketching en plain air, she then returns to her studio where she builds layers of impasto and oil paint to convey the mood and the beauty of the chosen scene.
Winning numerous prizes, Rebecca’s work is part of both Wollongong and Kiama Council as well as National and International collections.
