Nicky Lett – Above & Below

Step into a world of vibrant storytelling through colour, texture, and joyful mark-making. ‘Above & Below’ draws inspiration from Nicky’s recent journey through Queensland, diving deep into the wonders beneath the sea – gliding stingrays, flourishing corals, schools of fish, and a mysterious “water woman” who explores these hidden realms.

Above the surface, abstract landscapes capture sunlit rock pools, resilient cacti, and the quiet beauty of coastal life. Human presence appears in moments of connection — a man and woman at the beach.

Created with mixed media, acrylics, and a sense of playful discovery, each piece invites you to pause, reflect, and find joy in the visual story unfolding.

Nicky is an abstract expressionist artist originally from Rotorua, New Zealand and now based in the Illawarra. At the heart of her practice is a desire to capture the joy of being human. She is particularly inspired by the sea, landscapes, and the hidden details that lie beneath the surface. Through her vibrant palette and layered storytelling, Nicky aims to evoke emotion and create visual experiences that connect us.
