Kristal del Villar – Summer Sunsets

This summer, we are excited to have the stunning works of Kristal del Villar exhibited at The Garden once more. Her latest exhibition of landscape paintings ‘Summer Sunsets’ has been inspired by her south coast surroundings and Kristal has used vibrant acrylics on canvas to explore the emotive hues of sunset. This new body of work captures these fleeting moments of afternoon light across land and sky, delving into the beautiful sunset colour palettes of nature. From vermillion mountains to verdant valleys, Kristal seeks to remind us of our own summer sunset experiences and the dream of those to come.

Kristal lived in Kiama for most of her childhood and has now resided in Gerringong for the past decade with her creative husband and three beautiful children. She feels they are spoilt by the area’s natural beauty and the hills, valleys, and diverse seascapes provide abundant inspiration, particularly the breathtaking sunsets. There is a warmth and nostalgia at this special time of day that resonates within. It is this connection with nature that Kristal hopes to inspire within the viewer, celebrating the beauty all around us.

Kristal’s work has always sold quickly in the past and so we’d strongly recommend making the time to see this exhibition quickly, to avoid missing out! ‘Summer Sunsets’ is on display from 14 December 2023 to 10 January 2024.
