Kerry Bruce Exhibition

Kiama-based artist Kerry Bruce returns to The Garden for her latest solo exhibition. The stunning collection of works features beautiful blooms in Kerry’s signature style. My signature style involves bold pigment, sensuous application of paint and an all-pervasive sense of joy. Such is the power of that bouquet of blooms. I am Kerry Bruce Artist and Director of Gerringong’s Fern Street Gallery and I live on the pristine South Coast of NSW. Inspiration and beauty surrounds me from my seaside light filled studio in Kiama, with of course, an abundance of blooms ready and waiting to be painted.

Two decades as a full-time artist, my subjects have included various subjects from still life to the human figure, but it is flowers that I repeatedly return to. Abstracting my subject with technique, composition and colour.  Each artwork is unique, intuitively and spontaneous, I am constantly evolving my dynamic approach to mark making.

My style has evolved over the years and I now believe my work is a recognisable signature style. I enjoy the journey of working with the still life and love that every time I paint that vase of flowers they are uniquely and beautifully different. I design and style all my own floral arrangements looking for the blooms that have gorgeous shapes and will give me movement and energy in the artwork.

Each artwork is a unique creation derived from an intuitive practice that spontaneously evolves from one mark to the next. I am bold in my approach – colour is intensified and texture is accentuated.

In the true spirit of art, I love inspiring and empowering others to paint in my boutique luxury art retreats. My retreats are something special, offering beautiful surroundings, good art, healthy food and empowering company.

My art has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions throughout Sydney, Melbourne Regional NSW and London.
