Kathy Karas Exhibition – Silver Linings
July 2 @ 8:00 am - July 29 @ 3:00 pm
Celebrated local artist Kathy Karas returns to The Garden with her latest exhibition Silver Linings, Friday 2nd July – Thursday 29th July.
“Over the past year I have been spending more time in my studio with the occasional walk into the landscape which is one of my favourite things to do. I have found a new and deep connection to my local surroundings here on the South Coast. Being in the moment and in my element relishing the extra time to just be is truly a silver lining. These feelings have emerged in my work painted without distraction and from a place deep in my heart.
I am pleased to be exhibiting at one of my favourite venues, The Garden Berry.”
About the artist
A professional artist since 2005, Kathy is inspired to paint, in many mediums, the natural beauty of the coastal Illawarra regions. Her escarpment works communicate a dreamlike quality as she immerses herself into the landscape to paint, with feeling, her deep connection to the land so loves to paint. Similarly, she interprets the coastal areas in her contemporary works.
Kathy has exhibited in the Meroogal Women’s Art Prize and the James Kiwi Watercolour prize and has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions within Australia as well as in Europe. Kathy is represented by several galleries. Here works reside in collections worldwide.
