Following My Brush is a collection of landscapes and floral studies from the brush of award-winning artist Helen Pain. The exhibition will be on display at The Garden Berry from Thursday 10th March – Monday 4th April.
Helen describes her work as impressionistic, guided by memory and imagination, to capture the essence of each landscape or subject.
“I often feel that the rhythm of the brush takes over – hence the title of this impressionistic exhibition.”
Helen’s early career in the Arts was in performance as a professional singer. She then became a Creative Arts Consultant with the NSW Department of Education, and for many years was Choral Director and then Associate Director of the prestigious Schools Spectacular.
After retirement, Helen discovered the joy of painting and now spends many happy hours exploring and experimenting with different media, styles and subjects.
“I love painting impressions of places I have visited and loved. I use my travel photos as inspiration, and then let my imagination take over and “follow the brush” to interpret whatever it was made that place so special.
I also love to indulge my passion for all things floral. I enjoy painting large macro flower studies, or grouped arrangements, or beautiful gardens. You will see these passions reflected in this exhibition.”
Helen has held numerous shared and solo exhibitions and has won many awards, including two prestigious “Best in Exhibition” awards.
