Greg Martin Vale – Painting the South Coast

March 6 - April 3

“After I return from an overseas holiday, friends often ask if I am inspired to paint my holiday experiences. Well, most of the time I tell them I don’t need to travel further than life right here on the South Coast… So many moments crammed into my files for future works, and I will never have the time to realise even half of them. This exhibition is just some of these inspirations realised, close to Berry.”

Greg studied art at East Sydney Technical College and worked in Australia in the advertising industry. In the UK he also worked in advertising for film companies 20th Century Fox and Warner bros, including designing movie posters and print advertising. Later he worked designing ceramic art homewares and spent some time in the event industry. Then in 2013 Greg and his partner Nicki made the welcome sea-change from city life to Kiama. After establishing an award winning “Best in Australia” Balinese style garden in Kiama, Greg picked up his paint brushes and hasn’t stopped since.

In the last 10 years, Greg has won prizes and been a finalist or semi-finalist in the Kiama Art society competition, Berry Show, Kiama Show and the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in London.

‘Painting the South Coast’ will be on display from Wednesday the 6th of March until Wednesday the 3rd of April. All paintings are available to purchase.
